I absolutely love these dark paintings from Andrei Varga. The series is called Unsaved Memory and it’s hauntingly beautiful. The way the portrait is distorted, for the most part you can only see the body. I love the mixing of blacks and reds to create a soft but not overflowing streak against the neck of the first piece. I found the second piece to be the most disturbing, the deep reds and distortion of the face, it’s like he couldn’t piece it together, which made it so brilliant.
